1. What impact would moving to a ‘need based’ financial aid awarding process have? What if just one institution moved in this direction, what impact might it have on enrollment and the business of higher education?
In order to determine the financial aid impact, yields generated in the recent years need to be established. An analytical study could be carried out in families who have been awarded with the financial aid award to determine their views on different pricing, financial aid packages and net cost. Although this survey would prove to be effective it would not be able to stand the test of time with the ever-evolving competitors. Therefore, another method of determining the financial aid would be to look at the rate of enrollments into colleges in the past years after the introduction of financial aids (US Department of education, 2014). This technique will enable one to see how students have responded to the financial aid.
