U.S Federal Courts Law Suits Initiated By Foreigners
Length: 3 pages (825 Words)
“The U.S. federal courts are accepting too many lawsuits initiated by foreigners that concern matters not relevant to this country." I disagree with this statement because most of the lawsuits accepted by the federal courts have something to do with U.S in one way of another. In this era of international globalization, U.S more that ever has the responsibility to protect its citizens and its interests even when the cases involve other foreign citizens and nations. According to Foreign Relations Law (2015) the U.S courts have the right to take action on tort cases that occur in the American territory and those that involve actions directly affecting the U.S interests. So to say, I disagree with the claim that the federal courts have handling irrelevant cases. We have to accept the fact that nations have the responsibility to protect the rights of its citizens and therefore accepting claims from members of the states cannot be said to be irrelevant to the country (Foreign Relations Law, 2015).
