The Use of Time and Motion by Pollock Jackson
Time and motion have been incorporated in the world of art to create illusions to the viewers. The close relationship between time and motion in art is that motion takes place over time and distance. Motion through natural properties can be done using air current, or the artists move it themselves. The special properties of the art are what cause the changes giving an illusion of motion. Implied motion on the other hand, can be brought forth through the use of diagonal lines, gestural lines, and directional lines. Repetition also plays a vital role in creating the movement. Conversely, time is closely linked with cultural and historical implications and the concept of physical movement is absent.
