Should Steroids Be Legalized In Body building Completion?
Bodybuilding is a critical sport in the society today. The sport involves building muscles for display to the audience. This sport, like any other is one that pays well. Body builders have often used steroids to boost their body building processes. Steroids are substances that are derived synthetically from testosterone, which is a sex hormone in male species. These have been used for over 80 years now for medical purposes (Kingsley 23). These drugs help in the increase of muscles. The use of steroids has increased among different athletes in bodybuilding. Most steroid users turn to these substances due to body dissatisfaction. Therefore, they use the drugs in order to increase their body sizes and mass without putting much effort. According to studies, it is evident that the probability of steroid users in the population is larger than those who exercise their bodies. The greatest concern on steroid use is in sports, which require a lot of energy. These include gymnastics, weight lifting football, and track and field events. In recent past, there have been controversial cases of athletes accused of taking steroids since it is thought to be unfair to those who do not. The use of steroids in bodybuilding has both positive and negative effects on equal measures. Most importantly, despite the side effects caused by long-term use of the drugs, they make the sport what it is supposed to be by satisfying the needs of the customers through boosting of body mass, weight, and strength.
