Should Freedom Be Limited
Length: 1 pages (550 Words)
Should Freedom be limited?
In most democratic nations, the citizens are granted the right to exercise full political, religious, and economic freedom. Political freedom means the liberty of exercising one’s rights as per a country’s constitution; the citizens are not under any oppression from the government. Religious freedom means the right to follow any religion or none at all. It also grants people the right to worship without any constraints. Economic freedom gives the nation’s citizens the right to undertake any economic activity as long as it is legal. Economic freedom is associated with high income, less poverty, and better living conditions. People cherish freedom and most governments vow to give their citizens maximum liberty, but should freedom be limited? This paper answers the question by studying freedom during Charlemagne’s time, Augustus’ time, and the Abbasid Caliphate.
