Length: 5 pages (1387 Words)
The Executive Information System (EIS) is a support system that helps top managerial officers or executives in making decisions in an organization. It provides a highway for accessing both internal and external information regarding the organization’s goals and objectives. For Rosewell Corporation, the management in its entirety faces various challenges all of which are influenced by individual aspirations and greed. Internal coordination in the company proved to be a major challenge as well owing to the various discrepancies in information shared and the strategies each manager wished to adopt. Rosewell’s decentralized information system proved to be highly ambiguous and ineffective in achieving the desired goals. The idea of implementing the EIS in the firm was not readily accepted by the various managers in the company as some claimed it was an expensive waste of time and resources. Everybody in the firm wished to save their careers at all costs, and this proved highly challenging to implement the information system.
