I chose the above-mentioned company because it has a long-outstanding success reputation in the hospitality industry not only in America, but also in the global context. Quality is the heartbeat of Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co. and this has seen it awarded with the most prestigious awards in the hospitality industry twice, bestowed by the top consumer organizations. The Ritz-Carlton hotel/resort company currently operates 84 ‘five-star resorts and luxury hotels’ in 26 countries worldwide. Ritz-Carlton is currently a subsidiary of Marriott International, which is ranked in Top 100 best employer companies to work for by fortune magazine 2014. Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co. contains a wide range of luxury and lifestyle hotel that includes shopping, dining, kids club, nightlife entertainment, meeting, gaming, events, and spa. The hotel has a reputation of setting the standard in terms of success in the hospitality and tourism industry (Ritz-Carlton, 2014). This is by continuing to win prestigious service and quality awards, receiving steady accolades from independent assessors and maintaining a strong financial performance.
The current company was founded in 1983 after Gerald F. Blakeley Jr. sold the Ritz-Carlton Boston and its trademark to William B. Johnson. Johnson bought the company from the previous owners and based the current one in Atlanta, Georgia. From Georgia, the company began to expand its brands to other locations. Ritz-Carlton is a very interesting company with a strong brand and powerful strategy tools. The Company business has integrated lodging and iconic luxury resort. It has operated since early 1927.
