The U.S government just as any other government has a responsibility to protect its citizens in all aspects. In addition, there being a 40% death rate each year in the country due to preventable causes due to poor health lifestyles, there is need to get more involved and help reduce this trend. A population as developed as the United States has many resources that the government has access to. Some of these resources should be centered into the combating and prevention of some of this health related issues brought up by poor diet habits, tobacco and drug use, and sedentary lifestyles.
