The wettability of a reservoir sample influences its relative permeability, capillarity pressure, water flood behavior, electrical properties and dispensation. Furthermore, in wettability, the simulated tertiary recovery can be manipulated to bring desirable results. Among tertiary recovery process that is influenced by wettability are caustic flooding, miscible, hot water, and surfactant (47). During permeability and porosity tests, clean, strong water wet cores should be used for greater efficiency. Additionally, such tests can be used when the reservoir is known to be strong water wet. The wettability of the water wet mineral surface can be manipulated by the deposition of organic matter that was in the crude oil or the absorption of polar compounds (52). The polar compounds predominantly contain nitrogen, oxygen, and sulfur. All these compounds are most prevalent in the fraction such as asphaltenes and resins in crude oil.
