Management is the process of planning, organization, staffing, directing, leading, and controlling an enterprise or organization to accomplish a set target or goal. It entails the deployment and manipulation of financial resources, human resources, natural resources and technological resources for corporate development.

The upside down pyramid is the opposite of the traditional organizational model. In that case, the employees who are closest to the customers are placed at the top when it comes to making some decisions while managers are placed at the bottom. Employees are also empowered with freedom of action while the manager becomes the facilitator spearheading the team activities and efforts (Newton 4). The inverted pyramid makes organizational functions faster as compared to the traditional structure in which all decisions were made by the top management. The major difference between the upside down pyramid and the regular organizational structure is that; unlike the regular structure, the upside down pyramid is more inclusive and allows flexibility and freedom of employees in decision making. Management in the upside model is a responsibility for everyone while the functions are only left for the top management in the regular model (Newton 12).
