Learning Outside the Classroom Context Philosophy
Learning outside the classroom context is an essential activity for students in an institution. Students are expected to learn how to live in harmony and to develop good human relationships and later apply the lessons learnt to the outside world. Institutions on the other hand seek to facilitate the learning goals by recognizing the students’ needs and helping them to integrate the learning experiences. Institutions seek to contribute towards the growth and development of students by helping and guiding them discover and utilize the available learning resources. They offer advising, counseling, socialization, and working environment so as to achieve the learning goals.
The Office of Students’ affairs in the campus strives to integrate the goals and mission of the institution. Since learning and socialization is one of the educational missions, approaches to student learning and development are important. Critical to this mission, is the student awareness of the goals and the objectives as well as the avenues that lead to achieving them. This applies to the student learning environment and experiences. Once a complete understanding of such goals and mission is accomplished, students are believed to acquire quality education. The Office of students’ affairs can work together with the students in cooperation to assist them to learn. Usually, the keys to the learning and educational processes are interaction and communication.
