La femme Nikita
La femme Nikita was an action television series that aired between January 1997 and March 2001. It was aired in both the United States of America on the USA Network and in Canada on the CTV Television Network. The series entailed five seasons and for the first two seasons, its rating was the highest any television series had received in those days. In spite of the reduced investment and publicity of the subsequent seasons, it still managed to maintain its high ratings. The success of the film is what made viewers rally behind campaigns to revive its production at the end of season four which resulting in the release of its series finale as the fifth season. Even after that, another cable network television channel to produce an almost similar series in 2010 would later on adopt the concept and idea of the film. Hence this essay is a study of the underlying factors apart from the plot that made La femme Nikita stand out from the rest. Most importantly, it looks at the lighting, editing, Mise-en-scene and effect of the film, and the discussion is analyzed from a broad point of view.
