Journal Response To George Washington's Quote
Length: 1 pages (275 Words)
Journal Response #5
The quote, “I walk on untrodden ground. There is scarcely any part of my conduct which may not hereafter be drawn into precedent,” is beautifully written. The phrase best describes a scenario where Washington had to make up answers that were not available in the constitution as he led (Walsh n.d.). He did not have a constitution that outlined what the presidency involved, the image to project, or how to handle congress. Washington was in a difficult and delicate position, but he managed to create aspects and roles of the position that presidents fill today.
