A Class Divided
A class divided is a classical 1970s video that revolves around the days that followed after the murder of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The video depicts the life of a school teacher and her students who face various forms of discrimination and prejudice. It is a film that touches every aspect of human beings regardless of one’s ethnic background or race. It is a film that portrays the inhumane and cruel manner in which racial discrimination affected the lives of people in the 1970s. Myself, I have been faced with various counts of discrimination in which being a part of a minority group may lead to oppression or discrimination. The experiment carried by teacher Elliot proved to the children that minority oppression was entirely outrageous and pointless. The children learn that being discriminated or being termed as inferior was demining and it affected their lives negatively.
