Global Financial Crisis
Length: 4 pages (1100 Words)
The Global Crisis
The financial crisis was a result of various factors that pervaded the housing and credit markets. The causes of the global financial crisis range from the homeowners inability to pay their mortgages, increased building during the boom, and poor monetary policies. Other causes include high corporate debt levels, poor government regulation, and the risk of increasing defaulters. The excessive consumption of the housing debt resulting from mortgage-backed securities and credit swaps led to irrational low-interest rates using poor formulas for calculating risks. This study discusses some of the important catalysts of the global financial crisis across the private sector, bond markets, the government, and mortgage environments.
