Freedom and Dignity
“It does not take a majority to prevail…but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting bushfires of freedoms in the minds of men.”—Samuel Adams.
Freedom and dignity are primary rights of any human being regardless of the race, color or stature in the society. Accordingly, in the unfortunate event that individuals are deprived the right to their freedom and dignity, we expect serious resistance from the people being suppressed (Henry n.p). As Samuel Adams clearly puts forward, we expect serious resistance not from the masses, but from individuals who will then influence the masses and bring about social change regardless of the cost. Undoubtedly, this is what happened in the Arab countries in what is referred to as the Arab Uprisingthat took place in Egypt, Tunisia and Libya.
