This week you will be reading the book of James carefully and the corresponding chapters in the commentary and write a 600 words journal entry. Use the APA format and style of notation to credit all sources that are not your own.
Complete a journal entry reflecting on the biblical content of James and the corresponding commentary reading. Your entry should be 600 words.
You can address a number of issues, including James empahsis on control of one's words and anger, his treatment of the rich, or friendship with the world.
You can address other ideas James presents, but you must give some attention to what he writes about the relationship of faith and works.
Your entry will be evaluated on how well it is written and your level of thoughtful interaction with the material
The course focuses on one section of the New Testament writings. For the purposes of the course, the New Testament has been broken into the Synoptic Gospels, the writings of Paul, the Johannine Gospel and letters, and the General Epistles and Revelation.
Just a reminder what's expected on your journal entries. This week you will be reading Hebrews 7-13 carefully and the corresponding chapters in the commentary. You will have to have entered your journal on the ilearn system. You can expect on Mondays (normally) and no later than Tuesdays some prompts for your journal. However, you may use these assignments to expound on whatever content that was of particular interest to you. I want a 600 words journal entry. I will evaluate your entry on it's thoughtfulness and critical interaction with the text and commentary and the writing clarity and proficiency (i.e. correct spelling, grammar, etc.).
Looking forward to this gallop through these books of God's Word! Be sure to contact me through my personal email if you have questions or concerns.

The book of James addresses various issues that touch the real life situation in human life. Other books in the New Testament also go through the same matters. These subjects that he talks about focuses on things such as the regulation of one’s words and emotions. He also looks at the emphasis on how to handle the rich people. Besides, some attention is on the human relationship with the world and how close people are to God when they form some friendship with the earthly things (Easley, 1999). Moreover, James accentuates on the subject concerning faith and work of people in their daily encounters. He addresses all these issues on the basis of faith and works.
