When a subscriber is using a digital subscriber line modem, there is need for conversion of signal as it is being transmitted. A digital subscriber line model is used for internet connectivity through using digital telephone subscriber lines. A DSL router is installed in the premises of the subscriber with it performing tasks of a router and a DSL modem simultaneously to allow for connection of multiple computers either wirelessly or through the different ethernet ports. These are usually installed in home or small office setups. This technology is used since copper telephone lines are able to carry a wider band of frequencies over the communication channels since telephone communications do not fully use them (Gungor et al., 2011).
