In the study of computer architectures, which involves how computers are organized, designed, and implemented, "von Neumann architecture" has always been used as a basis for comparison. Von Neumann architecture led to the construction of the first generation computer referred as the EDVAC computer in 1952. John von Neumann was a Hungarian-born mathematician who lived between 1903 and 1957 (Goldstine, 2008). Von Neumann model for computers is an important concept because it acts as the mother of the computer designs we use today. Von Neumann developed a very basic model for computers still in use today.
