Nike began as a sportswear outlet in the market in 1964 in which it was branded as Blue Ribbon Sports, headquartered in Beaverton, Oregon. It got founded by Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight who happened to be participants in sporting activities with Knight being a middle-distance runner from Portland and Bowerman being a field coach. While Knight trained under the track, Bowerman sought ways of improving his students' performance and during his free time, he could try to improve their shoes. Bowerman made many trials that failed to work where Phil Knight student went to Stanford University to finalize his Finance master's studies.
